questions about (re)focus and fan sound level

Hi, I'm considering buying a nanoprojector and the P300 so far looks like the best option. I have two questions though.

1. When googling for reviews I've seen mentionings about an issue with the focus. Someone (sorry I didn't save the page URL) claimed that the P300 could lose focus during use. If that an issue with all P300's or something that happened only to some faulty units? If a refocus is needed during use on all/most units then I have a follow up on that: from the pdf manual I gather that a refocus can only be done using the physical knob on the unit, not from the remote? If so, does physical knob protrude a bit from the unit? (The question might seem weird but I plan to place the projector most of the time in a hard to reach spot and would need to figure out a remote way to (re)focus if needed. If the knob sticks out a bit then I think I could put together something using a tiny servo motor that remotely turns the dial.)

2. What is the measured noise level of the fan? Better yet, what brand and type of fan is used? Can the fan be disabled through software/firmware? (Assuming the user adds adequate external cooling/ventilation for the device.)

For all people complaining about fan noise : It's possible to exchange the fan for a fan based on hydrodynamic bearings - little bit quieter - oryginal fan specs: 30x30x10mm /3wires / 9000 rpm / 12v so you have to find something with similar rpm's, also you need to use plug from the old fan because it's hard to get a fan with this particular kind of plug - good luck
